What FontGenerate is
FontGenerate turns ordinary text into stylish, copyable Unicode text for social profiles, captions, usernames, gaming names, and messages. It runs entirely in your browser, is free to use, and does not require an account.
What it is not
It is not a font editor and it does not produce installable font files. The output is text made of Unicode characters that resemble different type styles. Because it is text, it can be pasted almost anywhere; because it is not a font, it cannot change how existing text is displayed.
Principles
Immediate. The generator is the first thing on the page and reacts as you type.
Private by default. Your text is processed on your device and never transmitted or stored.
Honest about compatibility. Unsupported characters are preserved, and styles are rated for readability and compatibility rather than presented as universal.
Curated, not exhaustive. More than 150 tested styles that read well are more useful than thousands of repetitive ones.
Multilingual. German, French, and Spanish characters are preserved, and the interface and pages are available in all four languages.
Accessible. Keyboard operation, visible focus, and screen-reader announcements are part of the product, and the limits of decorative text are explained rather than hidden.
How the site is funded
FontGenerate is free. Display advertising may be introduced after the core experience is stable; it will never appear between the text input and the first results, and it will never look like a generated result.

Is FontGenerate really free?

Do I need to create an account?
No. Nothing on the site requires an account, and there is nothing to log in to. Preferences such as your interface language are stored only in your browser.
Where does my text go?
Nowhere. Generation happens in your browser and the text is not sent to a server, stored, or included in analytics.
How do you choose which styles to include?
Each candidate is mapped, tested against multilingual samples, checked for duplicates, rated for readability and compatibility, and reviewed on a phone. The methodology is described on the how-it-works page.
Can I request a style?
Yes. Send an example and where you saw it through the contact page. Requests that add something the collection lacks are prioritized.
Why are there separate pages for Instagram, TikTok, and gaming?
Each platform has different rules and fonts. The pages pre-filter the collection to what works there and explain which fields accept styled text.
Is the site available in other languages?
Yes. The interface, style names, and pages are available in English, German, French, and Spanish. Use the language menu in the header.
Does FontGenerate have an API or app?
Not at the moment. The web app works on any phone or desktop browser and can be added to a home screen like an app.
How can I report a problem?
